WHY WOMEN GET ABORTIONS
• Women who have never been married account for one-third of abortions in America.
• Less than 1% of all abortions take place because of rape and/or incest.
Women give an average of 3.7 reasons why they are seeking an abortion including the following:
• 21% Inadequate finances
• 21% Not ready for responsibility
• 16% Woman’s life would be changed too much
• 12% Problems with relationships, unmarried
• 11% Too young and/or immature
• 8% Children are grown; she has all she wants
• 3% Baby has possible health problems
• <1% Pregnancy caused by rape/incest
• 4% other
ABORTION BY RACE
• Blacks comprise only 13% of the population of America but account for 37% of all abortions.
• Black women are five times more likely to abort than white women.
• 69% of pregnancies among Blacks are unintended, while that number is 54% among Hispanics and 40% of pregnancies among Whites.
• Planned Parenthood, the largest seller of abortions in the United States, has located 80% of its abortion clinics in minority neighborhoods, disproportionately targeting minorities for abortion.
PUBLIC OPINION ABOUT ABORTION
Since the election of President Barack Obama, Americans have experienced a shift in how they view abortion. In the spring of 2009, several polls showed that for the first time, the majority of Americans identify themselves as “pro-life.”
Not only that, those who identify themselves as “pro-choice” fell dramatically in the same time period that pro-life sentiment rose.
Some feedback from people I asked what do they believe about abortion.
Person #1
Because it's wrong. The baby can be placed in a better home. If you look up this video on YouTube about this girl that works in an abortion center she will tell you how they kill the babies even when they come out alive and breathing. It is disgusting and awful. I am the type of person that if it came down to the doctors saying either I had to die or the baby had to die during child birth. I'd die and make the doctor save my baby. It's not right.
Person #2
That child didn't choose to be conceived. ......God plans our birth so we all conceived for reason......and there are many women who can't have kids who would love to have the child they are killing. Who knows they could be killing who God intended to have cured cancer.
Person #3
It’s not for me but I don't judge others for having one.
I believe it truly is "a mother’s choice" but it would never be mine.
Person #4
I know it is a very touchy subject my feelings on it lean in the direction of choice by the parties involved. That is about all I’m comfortable with saying.
Person #5
I could sum it up basically by saying that I am glad I was not aborted. If I got to live, why would I ever choose not to let someone else live? That goes against my thinking entirely. I am nobody's judge but given the opportunity, I would strongly suggest choosing life.
So whatever you choose, please choose wisely. Sometimes doing the right thing could be the worst decision of your life. And if you do choose abortion just remember that there are thousands of womens out there that can't give birth.
