Business Casual or Just Casual

I work in a business casual environment. Where people don't understand that. I was told by someone "You have to dress for the position you want, not the position you have". Which is truth. But day by day I see people at work dressing like they are going to the park or to the beach. Really? We need to have more etiquette. Understand the Dress Code of the company or any company you work at.

There are woman that look very attractive in a nice suit or dressed like a professional. But saying this, I have seen suits that women wear that are embedded on there skin. You have to dress comfortable. Understanding that you will have that clothes for more than eight hours. Also leggings are not work appropriate clothes. Even if you have a rocking body "IT'S NOT ACCEPTABLE'. Sweatpants are also "NOT ACCEPTABLE" Also understand that you are not going to a party or a club. There is the time and place for everything. I understand that different companies have casual day or even casual week (once again "CASUAL"). And when using make up please be considerate with your fellow co-workers. Please don't look like if you had a fight with your kids paints and the paints won. And using perfume doesn't mean to empty the whole bottle on you. We don't like the smell of funeral, brings bad vibes.

And men please be a gentlemen and dress accordingly to the dress code. Shorts and sandals are not "BUSINESS CASUAL" attire. Also shave and get a decent hair cut that when you talk to a client will make them interested on the conversation you are having than they contemplating on your face. If you smoke have some gum and a breath mint real close (this goes to woman too). That smell is very nasty and even worse when you mix it with coffee. Don't dress as if you were part of a clown group. Try to match your clothes. Use a cologne that will attract the client instead of making them run away from you and cut down the aftershave. And most important use a "BELT". Sag in your house.

But saying all this. Dress to impress the client. Not to impress your fellow co-workers. The way you dress can say a lot about your. even if it's not true. Now a days we judge a book by it's cover not by the contexts inside.
