I was brought up with my grandmother and aunt. They raised me to the man I am now. They were my mother and father. Because I really never meet my dad and if I did I never knew it. But there are times I wonder how it would be to be raised by my father and mother. Maybe it would have been different. A male role model that would have guided me when I decided to mess around in school and do stupid stuff I have done (not regretting it, just wondering).
I can say that I have tried my best to become a great father for my daughter and provide for them the best way I can. Give them my unconditional love and even my life to save theirs. Those beautiful smiles that bring joy to my life and has been the best gift God has given me. Not even winning the lottery would give me such happiness.
I also understand that there are mothers out there doing both roles father and mother, providing for their kids. Making and taking risks day by day, leaving their last sweat in a place that they don't want their children to end up. Making sure that everything is provided for them. And for that I salute you.
Men out there that are responsible with their loved ones, keep up the good work and don't let nothing bring you down. Those precious faces that greet you with a smile are worth anything in the world. And I also salute you.
So let us not only celebrate Fathers Day today, but every day. Both men and women have played this role. So from now on, may God bring you peace and understanding. Give them comfort and your time. Love them with all your heart and soul. This is only one life, so don't waste it. They are and should always be your main priority.
