Was in an important meeting where we were talking about your tone of voice. The ways of how you should address the customer, being more polite, taking ownership of the call. And many more other useful things (that I am not able to express with you because then I can be promoted to customer, lol).

Then you have people that are polite and listen to the person giving the meeting and even engage in the conversation. Those that are active listeners and pay attention to detail. Those that really have an interest on doing better in the company so they can move forward. But then you have the rude ones (never fails in a meeting or serious conversation) that really don't care. And in the long run are the ones with low score and then are wondering why they are getting the nasty emails.

The people who set these meetings are trying to set us up for success. They have been where we are. And expect us to be able to learn and become a better person. As a previous trainer I know how frustrating that could be. Trying to explain something to a class or work group and you can't because of those that don't care. I have had set some people straight on my times. Have told them these exact word "I am training you to become a better person and understand what we are doing here. If you don't feel that this will benefit you, please feel free to start walking out those doors." And believe me they got the point.

Be courteous with that person. Show them the respect they deserve. Be quiet and pay attention. Engage with the person when needed. Come with solid and lucrative questions. The ones that will benefit the whole team or group. But also remember there are no stupid questions but the one you don't ask (there are questions that don't really need to be asked or ar out of context).
