ADHD.... Very Misunderstood

As I look around me I notice that there are more and more children with A.D.H.D. (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder). Children that are categorized as brats or bad kids. Sent to be evaluated and diagnosed as crazy. But why are we speculating on something that we don't know nothing about? How can doctors come and stuff a kid with pills so he or she can calm down? Let's educate our selves before we accidentally kill a child.

As in Wikipedia ADHD  is a psychiatric disorder of the neuro developmental type in which there are significant problems of attention, hyperactivity or acting impulsively that are not appropriate for a person's age. It also explains that it starts at age 6 and is more dominant on boys than in girls. And may continue to adult hood. There has been so many studies regarding this issue. Trying to find out where it originated, how did it start. And they still don't know. It's believed to involve interactions between genetic and environmental factors.

A child with ADHD is not a bad kid. It's a misunderstood child. One that needs to be treated with more attention than any other and even more love. These kids don't stay focus on only one thing. There mind wonders from place to place. One moment they can be playing cards and the next they can be running around the house. They live in a world created by them where you are the intruder. That is why you as a parent need to have more communication and interaction with your child.

A huge mistake that parents do is strike their kids with this condition, because they are already tired or even exhausted. That is why counseling is a great way to deal with this. Twice a month sitting with your counselor and explaining your difficult points and where you lack experience helps a lot. Don't neglect your child because of this. Be more comprehensive.

There are schools and even programs with people trained on how to deal with children with ADHD. And try to avoid on giving your child pills. That in the long run will even complicate things more. Your child will be so used to taking pills that his body will need them to function. So be more supportive towards your child. Create different activities and make a safe place for them to play.

So don't make a mistake that later in the future you will regret. Love your child and be patient. God will grant you with peace and serenity.
