.jpg) I have lost friends and family members with cancer. And I ask myself why? But I truly don't have an answer. I have read so many articles on this topic. Trying to understand why it kills in such a large proportion. Not only killing or impacting adults but also children. Children that suffer the most. That are cut off of a world where they used to playing to being confined to an area where they are treated and connected to hoses. It just breaks my heart.

How can a healthy adult that takes good care of its body, eats well, goes to the gym and does not smoke end up attached to a bed having days or months to die with cancer? While a person that has been smoking pure tobacco since they were fifteen are still living or even reach ages above 90? It's so random, it blows your mind. Or child that was in the sports team, playing lets say baseball, great student in school and out of nowhere starts getting sick and ends up having cancer? There are things that are hard to explain.
This next portion was taken from Wikipedia:
Cancer prevention is defined as active measures to decrease the risk of cancer. The vast majority of cancer cases are due to environmental risk factors, and many, but not all, of these environmental factors are controllable lifestyle choices. Thus, cancer is considered a largely preventable disease. Greater than 30% of cancer deaths could be prevented by avoiding risk factors including: tobacco, overweight / obesity, an insufficient diet, physical inactivity, alcohol, sexually transmitted infections, and air pollution. Not all environmental causes are controllable, such as naturally occurring background radiation, and other cases of cancer are caused through hereditary genetic disorders, and thus it is not possible to prevent all cases of cancer..jpg) So in other words we are not safe of getting this disease. We can't live in a bubble and not breath this contaminated air. Nor avoid radiation from wherever it comes. We can only try to live a better life to prevent getting sick. Eating right, doing exercises, not smoking, using a condom, and even drinking sociable can at least prepare your body of getting this.

A family man or woman. The one that works to keep that family going. You can't even imagine the devastation that person is going thru. They feel miserable, wanting to die, not even wanting to fight. It doesn't matter if you are a health nut or a person that smokes or drinks when it gets you "It Gets You". We can only fight and try our best. Or even try to stay alive for our loved ones. To be that person who can post on Facebook "I beat Cancers ass".

But how to explain a child what they have. Telling them that they need to fight to get better. Holding their hand tight while they are crying in pain. Losing their hair, going thru chemo, having hoses connected on their bodies. Not being able to do some of the things they want. You, the reader, just had a glimpse of what a child with cancer goes day by day. But I am glad there are places like St. Jude Hospital and Vanderbilt Children's Hospital where I live. And the Ronald McDonald House for helping the families of these kids. For making their lives better by providing them with the help they need and a smile.
.jpg) If you have a loved one that survived and beat cancer. Tell them how much you loved them and that you are there for them. But if you lost a person with this disgusting disease I'm with you. I know how that feels. Let's all pray for those that have survived, those going thru this and those that we have lost.
